Minutes of the 81st MTE meeting held on Thursday August 29th 2013

Present :

1. Dummy septum status:

   • The vacuum chambers are ready and should be delivered at CERN by next week.

   • The vacuum tank should be delivered at CERN also next week.

   • Assembly should start by mid-September and should be completed by end of October.

2. Shielding: 

   • The block are already built and at CERN (close to the Prevessin BBQ area), apart from the top block.

   • A place to store them in the PS ring is available.

   • Next week, at the latest, the base block will be prepared. At the same time the 60 mm diameter openings in the later block will be drilled.

   • The best location for the mockup is just outside PS door 102. Currently, some coils are stored there, but a proper storage area is already available on the top of the PS shielding. Transport will be contacted to organise the move of the coils, the move of the blocks from Prevessin, and the construction of the mockup (Action: Dominique).   The status of the nearby crane should also be checked (Action: Simon).

   • It is communicated that no extension of the side wall will be needed.

3. BTV:

   • The AP will deliver the components by mid-September. This is two weeks later than the original planning, but it should not be a big problem.

   • The BTV should be assembled and installed in the dummy septum before end of October.

4. Installation schedule:

   • According to the current version of the PS schedule, the dummy septum should be installed starting on 12/12.

   • One month before the installation activities a global IMPACT should be made available (Action: Mike and Simon).

   • A safety file should be prepared: details will be checked with Rende (Action: Massimo).

5. In total three contributions for the final report have been received. It is reminded that the missing contributions should be sent by mid-September (Action: All).
