Conclusions and actions from
the meeting |
-
Here are the main remarks from the
impedance studies:
-
No particular issues are to be
expected!
-
The beam screen is mandatory.
Slots of 3mm time 10 mm (along the beam directions)
should be foreseen. The ratio between holes and the
whole beam screen surface should be 50%.
-
The beam screen should be in very
good contact with the tank, but there is no need to
have sliding contacts with the blade. Nevertheless,
it will be important to minimise the gap below the
beam screen whenever the blade is displaced towards
the outside of the machine.
-
Ferrites should not be needed,
but it is decided to provide supports just in case
and an estimate of the surface needed is provided.
-
The impedance contribution is
marginal, but detailed analysis of instabilities
should be performed.
-
It is agreed that bench
measurements will be performed before installing the
device in the PS.
-
The recent details (i.e., ratio of
holes and surface of beam screen and surface of
ferrites) should be compared with parameters used for
vacuum simulations (Action:
TE-VCS).
