Main items

Conclusions and actions from the meeting

  1. The design of the shielding has progressed. Next steps:

    • To check with vacuum experts the accessibility of the downstream flange (Action: Mike to contact vacuum experts).

    • The situation in term of accessibility of the flanges of the internal dumps should be checked in order to compare it with the current proposal for the dummy septum (Action: Ray to check the integration drawings of internal dump regions).

    • To verify availability of concrete blocks (Action: Massimo to contact M. Lazzaroni).

    • To verify feasibility of the proposed layout (Action: Massimo to contact transport experts).

    • To verify the situation of charge on the ground of the proposed shielding (Action: Massimo to contact civil engineer experts).

    • To provide a description of the intervention for interventions on the MTV (Action: Stephane).

    • To review the estimates of dose delivered to personnel during interventions once the shielding is finalised (Action: Sanja).

    • To finalise the shielding layout in view of preparing the integration drawings (Action: Mike et al.).

  2. The MTV proposal is progressing.
The camera has a lifetime of about 2000 hours. Periodic maintenance could be envisaged, but the dose delivered to personnel should be evaluated (see previous points). It should be investigated if its use can be logged, e.g., in TIMBER.
It is discussed whether the slit in the dummy septum blade could be avoided by setting appropriately the stop position of the monitor. The constraint is that a gap of about 2 mm should be kept to avoid damaging the screen. Probably this is acceptable. The decision will be taken later on as this is a detail, not blocking the whole development.
The final screen dimensions will be provided (Action: ABP).
