Minutes of the 69th MTE meeting held on Thursday January 17th 2013

Present :

1. The design of the shielding has been analysed:

   • The new design seems unnecessarily complex. We should revert to the previous design (Action: Mike to prepare the final layout).

   • The space around the flanges seems to the be enough for the installation of the RF by-pass and tight, but still acceptable for the installation. It is proposed to have a look at the installation of the PS internal dumps to verify the available space for a device with a similar design as the dummy septum shielding.

   • A single block should be installed to cover the shielding. Due to the non-standard size of the required block, either a standard block should be cut to the correct size, or a special block should be made (Action: Massimo to contact M. Lazzaroni).

   • Once the final layout is ready approval by all experts will be requested (Action: Massimo to contact experts).

   • The final layout of the dummy septum will be sent to the impedance team for final evaluation of the impedance (Action: Mike to send the drawings to Benoit and Serena).

2. The MTV proposal is progressing and construction drawings have been launched.

   • No slit in the dummy septum blade will be made.

   • A document has been provided by S. Burger concerning the time required for interventions on the BTV installed in the septum in view of evaluating the dose delivered to personnel.
