Minutes of the 71st MTE meeting held on Thursday February 28th 2013

Present :

1. The design of the shielding has been reviwed:

   • A special block will be built with holes for the manual system to move the blade in case of major failure.

   • The changes on the base of the shielding (according to the requests of transport experts and magnet experts) are not relevant for radio protection and are approved.

   • All the blocks are concrete blocks apart from three that are marble blocks. The presence of lifting points for the marble blocks should be checked (Action: Raul).

   • Next steps:

     • The final layout in 3D will be circulated by end of next week (Action: Raul).

     • All people concerned should provide feedback and comments (Action: All).

     • In parallel the analysis of avaialbility of blocks will be carried out (Action: Raul).

     • The 3D model of the dummy septum will be integrated in the shielding layout to ensure full compatibility (Action: Raul, Mike).

2. Other activities: 

   • A formal EDMS approval round of the septum laytou will be launched (Action: Mike).

   • A schedule of the various activities, including also installation, will be prepared (Action: Mike). This will enable RP to analysis the IMPACT activity.

   • A formal EDMS approval round is also foreseen for the shielding layout (Action: Raul).
