Minutes of the 76th MTE meeting held on Thursday May 23rd 2013

Present :

1. Final layout of the shielding for the dummy septum:

   • The longitudinal dimension of the top block should is 900 mm to avoid any interference with the ion pump.

   • D. Bodart confirmed that the new bus bars have the same overall size as the current ones.

   • Integration (with PS ring and dummy septum) has been checked: a longitudinal displacement of the downstream wall should be applied at construction time.

   • Next steps:

     • An EDMS approval should be set-up to collect the comments quickly, i.e., a week of time (Action: Mike).

     • Information concerning the manufacturing delay and costs should be provided (Action: Raul and Eliseo).

     • After the completion of the FLUKA simulations a decision will be taken as of the layout of the shielding to be installed in SS75 (Action: Simone).

2. Overall planning: 

   • The schedule of the dummy septum construction and installation has been provided.

   • Next steps:

     • Include activities from: vacuum and transport (Action: Simon).

     • Include activities from: BI, civil engineering, impedance measurements (Action: Mike).

3. Next steps:

• Review radiation simulations and intervention times to allow establishing official figures concerning radiation doses (Action: Sanja).

• Prepare for writing a detailed report of the dummy septum activities. The structure will be prepared and distributed (Action: Massimo).
