Main items

Conclusions and actions from the meeting

  1. Dummy septum status:

    • The construction is progressing well. The non-conformity of the downstream vacuum chamber (vertical dimension of 69 mm instead of 70 mm) will be corrected. According to the schedule, Mike should visit the firm next week and the tank should be delivered to CERN the week after.

    • The controls for the dummy septum are under the responsibility of TE-ABT and should be made available by the hardware tests period of the PS (Action: Mike).

  2. Shielding:

    • The concrete blocks have been received in Prevessin.

    • The top block will be delivered by end-September or beginning of October, due to the need of a special lifting hook.

    • The preparation of the base block and of the lateral block to enable the use of the crank system will be done in the coming weeks under the supervision of Mike.

    • The possibility of a test assembly should be envisaged (Action: Massimo to discuss with Raul, Caterina and Mike).

  3. BTVP:

    • The AP agreed to deliver the components by end of August.

    • The whole mechanism has been reviewed by vacuum experts: no major issues have been found. The important point is to information the PS vacuum specialist s of the presence of a vacuum enclosure linked with the moving mechanism of the BTV: in case of leaks a detection of this vacuum enclosure should be performed. The tests performed so far will be analysed by vacuum experts and a report prepared (Action: Stephane, Nicholas, José Antonio).

    • The parking position of the BTV screen for all positions of the dummy septum blade should be evaluated in order to exclude that the screen might remain in beam (Action: Mike, Stephane).

    • The controls for the BTVP are under the responsibility of BI and should be made available by the hardware tests period of the PS (Action: Stephane).

  4. Two contributions for the final report have been received. It is reminded that the missing contributions should be sent by end of August (Action: All).
Final editing will start soon afterwards (Action: Massimo)
