Minutes of the 83rd MTE meeting held on Thursday October 10th 2013

Present :

S. Burger, S. Damjanovic, M. Giovannozzi, N. J. Jurado, M. Hourican.

S. Gilardoni, C. Hernalsteens, S. Mataguez.

 

1. Dummy septum status:

   • The assembly activities are progressing well.

   • A vacuum acceptance test has been performed. P. Demarest confirmed the need to additional cleaning, which is on-going.

2. Shielding: 

   • The shielding has been assembled in the PS tunnel closed to the door 102. See here.

   • The position of the hook for the base block is not at the location of the CG of the block: compensatory measures will be taken (Action: Mike).

   • The availability of the top block should be checked (Action: Massimo).

3. BTV:

   • The assembly activities are progressing well.

   • The spare BTV will require an optimised designed, based on the experience of the current device.

4. Overall schedule:

   • In two weeks the BTV should be ready for installation in the dummy septum.

   • Impedance measurements should be planned. Hardware for supporting the wire is ready. More details concerning the dates are expected by beginning of next week (Action: Mike and Massimo).

   • To date, the original installation date, 12 of December, is maintained: the various activities are all on time.

5. A specific IMPACT and DMR for the installation of the dummy septum are required and should be prepared (Action: Mike).
