Main items

Conclusions and actions from the meeting

  1. Impedance measurements

    • There is a good agreement for the first mode between simulations and measurements.

    • This is not the case for the second mode. Although it is beyond the extension of the bunch spectrum, it would be nice to understand the situation.

    • The statement at the time of the simulation campaign is still valid: there are no obstacles to the installation of the dummy septum. Nevertheless, an official statement will be prepared (Action: Benoit).

    • Simulations of the SMH16 have been carried out, already, but it is not felt that they can be used to provide an additional benchmark of the dummy septum simulations and measurements.

    • It is proposed to perform another simulation in which the blade is set to the parking position (Action: Serena).

    • It is proposed to prepare a short summary of the measurement results to be added to the report that is being prepared (Action: Serena).

  2. Dummy septum status:

    • The assembly activities are finished.

    • The orientation of the axis of the motors is now vertical, which prevents using a crank to move the blade to the parking position in case of serious failure. An solution should be found in order to keep the intervention short in order to minimise the impact on the beam availability to the LHC (Action: Mike).

  3. Shielding:

    • The position of the lifting point of the base block has been corrected.

    • The status of the top block should be checked (Action: Massimo).

  4. BTV:

    • The assembly activities are finished.

    • A meeting will be called to agree on the design of the spare BTV (Action: Nicolas).

  5. Overall schedule:

    • No issues expected.
